Finally, I made a dress. It had been too long. And I have to tell you, it seemed at least three times harder than before. Setting aside time each day takes a lot of planning and effort. It seems I have something to do everyday, imagine that. Appointments, playdates, grocery shopping, school pickups. My life is just soooo busy {insert eye roll here}. Now that it's warm again, we can start taking more outdoor photos which look SOO much better and are SOO much more fun and flattering.
This is a very lightweight dark wash denim wrap dress trimmed with cherry red bias tape. It has a double layer of ruffles that wrap around the bodice. The sleeves are similar to the Eight O'Clock Frock, cut in a rectangle shape and ending at just under the arm. The wrap comes together at the side in a bow.
I made the hem a little higher than I normally do. I guess I was needing a little more flirty in my life. It was a little tight on me but since it is a wrap dress the fit is more varied so I would guess that this dress should fit a size 2-6. I'm about a 6-8.
The dress reminded me of summer. Perhaps its because I'm just itching for its arrival but with the shorter length and sleeves I saw someone wearing this on a warm summer date. Perhaps to a fair? We've all been to the state fair. It's in summer. It's in a part of town that's populated but has a lot of grassy patches. A little bit country yet crowded and clamourous. That's how I saw this dress. Flirty but a little modern.
