Today were going to be taking it easy. Yesterday was probably the most difficult. It should be smooth sailing from here on out.
Hey Look! That's what you're going to have by the end of today.
1. Find center of skirt and center of bodice. Pin at center, right sides together. Stitch skirt to bodice, right sides facing, matching centers. Press seam allowances upwards towards bodice.
If you would like to add a sash, take your sash piece and fold it in half lengthwise. Place the two long ends of the doubled up sash between your bodice and skirt when sewing them together.
2. If you added a sash cut off any excess on the ends.
3. Turn to the right side and iron down all your seams.
4. Try it on to see if it fits well. When I tried mine on I noticed that the ruffles stuck up a bit. To fix that take a needle and thread. Double up the thread and knot the ends.
Make a little stitch on the wrong side of the ruffle. Since you ruffle is two sided, sew through the bottom underside fabric of the ruffle and not the top piece. This way your ruffle is stitched to your bodice but you won't be able to see the stitch.
Repeat this step anywhere the ruffle sticks up.
